Overview
The Mardi Himal Trek is located in the Annapurna region of Nepal, offering trekkers an off-the-beaten-path experience with breathtaking views and a peaceful atmosphere. Compared to the well-known treks to Everest Base Camp and Annapurna Base Camp, it is a relatively new and less congested trekking route, which makes it perfect for those looking for peace and a stronger bond with nature.
Usually beginning in Kande, the journey makes its way up to the high-altitude Mardi Himal Base Camp via charming towns, lush woods, and alpine meadows. A primary attraction of the walk is the expansive vista of many of the most recognizable Himalayan peaks, such as Annapurna, Machapuchare (Fishtail), and Mardi Himal.
The path passes through a range of environments, from rocky, difficult terrain close to the base camp to lush rhododendron woods at lower elevations. Trekkers are treated to breathtaking dawn and sunset views throughout the route as the snow-capped peaks sparkle in the gentle light.
Due to its moderate difficulty, both novice and expert hikers may complete the trail. In addition to offering possibilities for interaction with the Gurung and Magar cultures, it gives a cultural experience in addition to the breathtaking scenery.
The Annapurna Conservation Area, which is home to the Mardi Himal Trek, is known for its high biodiversity and sightings of uncommon plants and animals. For those seeking a more compact yet still fulfilling Himalayan experience, the entire journey can be finished in 8 to 9 days.
Less Crowded and Peaceful Trails of Mardi Himal
Only in 2012 was the Mardi Himal trip made accessible to international visitors; in contrast to popular trekking routes such as the Annapurna Base Camp trip, this walk is still peaceful and less frequented.
The area has stayed untouched and provides insights into the Gurung way of life in villages where tourism is just starting.
The Mardi Himal mountain rises to a height of 5,587 meters, or 18,330 feet. It's a little yet stunning peak in the Annapurna range. It is, nonetheless, dominated by the well-known and famous Fishtail Mountain (Machapuchare).
With breathtaking 360-degree views of the Annapurna Range, including Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, and the revered Machapuchare itself, the summit is sure to captivate visitors.
Best Season for Trekking to Mardi
The months of March through May and September through November are the ideal times to do the Mardi Trek. Both seasons are ideal for hiking in the Himalayas since they have good weather, clear skies, and comfortable temperatures.
Springtime: March to May
The temperatures and bright sky of spring provide hikers a fantastic chance to take in the breathtaking vistas of the mountains. The rhododendron and other wildflowers in full bloom in the woodlands make for a stunning hiking experience. This season's average day temperature is between 15°C and 20°C, with overnight lows of 5°C to 10°C.
Autumn Season: September to November
Because of the pleasant weather throughout the fall, trekking in the Himalayas is particularly popular during this season. It's the perfect time of year to go hiking since the sky is typically clear and the weather is comfortable. Trekking through the golden-hued woodlands and slopes is a breathtaking experience. This season's average day temperature is between 15°C and 20°C, with overnight lows of 5°C to 10°C.

Good to Know
Accommodation during the 9-day trek to Mardi Himal
You will spend the evenings on the journey at the tea house on our nine-day Mardi Himal journey. We'll reserve a lovely accommodation for you in Kathmandu and Pokhara that meets tourist standards.
Along the Mardi Himal Trek path, there are fairly rudimentary tea shops. You shouldn't anticipate any luxury or contemporary comforts.
If you want a single room, the rooms are reserved for twin sharing. Depending on the tea house, there can be a private or shared bathroom. The tea houses often include tiny rooms with a few mattresses, cushions, blankets, and other pieces of furniture.
Meals during the Mardi Himal Base Camp Trek
Foods such as dal bhat, a staple meal in Nepal, curries, both vegetarian and vegan, chapati, momo, noodles, thukpa, sandwiches, oatmeal, curry, mashed potatoes, and so on are typically served during trekking.
Likewise, muesli, oatmeal, toast, eggs, maize, tea, coffee, etc. are all possible options for breakfast. Three meals are included in our Mardi Himal hike package for the hike.
We advise you to have veggies and dal bhat for at least one meal a day, as this is the healthiest and freshest cuisine you will find when trekking.
You will have breakfast and a welcome and goodbye meal in Kathmandu and Pokhara. You are allowed to dine anywhere you choose for the other meals.
What are the difficulties while trekking to Mardi?
As we talk about the many hiking routes in the Nepalese Himalayas, we give the Mardi Himal Trek a moderate rating. The journey is manageable for visitors in large part because of the daily walking hours that are carefully planned.
This itinerary is set up such that you never have to exert more effort to get where you're going. In the same way, you can control altitude sickness by adhering to it.
The trail's flexibility is another benefit of the Mardi Trek. The journey can be finished in 9 days, depending on your schedule.
As a result, the schedule is adaptable here. In a similar vein, the regularity of tea establishments facilitates hiking. But you have to hike over 3,000 meters for several days. Taking all of this into account, we recommend this walk to everyone, with the help of local guides.
