The Annapurna Region is a true paradise for trekkers, offering an unparalleled blend of natural and cultural diversity. Geographically, the Annapurna Region is bordered by the Kali Gandaki River to the west, the Marsyangdi Valley to the east, and the Pokhara Valley to the south. To the north lies the trans-Himalayan range, forming the border between Nepal and Tibet.
Two major trekking routes traverse this diverse region, following the river valleys. One trail leads up the Kali Gandaki River to Jomsom and the sacred site of Muktinath. The other ascends the Marsyangdi Valley to the village of Manang. These routes intersect via an east-west trail in the northern area, crossing the high-altitude Thorung La Pass. Together, these trails form the iconic Annapurna Circuit Trek.
Trekking in the Annapurna Region is highly accessible, with easy transportation to trailheads near Pokhara. Spectacular mountain views begin within a day’s walk, making this region ideal for both short and extended treks.
