Why trek to Ghandruk?
This spectacular trek boasts a beautiful sag regarding cultural experience supplemented with comparatively easy trekking trails. Being one of the best trekking destinations for beginners as well as experienced trekkers, Ghandruk is certainly a place worth looking at in terms of trekking. Here are some reasons why it is worth visiting Ghandruk with trekking:
Stunning Mountain Views : Part way in the Annapurna range, Ghandruk offers stunning viewpoints towards the whole of the Annapurna massif southwards with peaks like Annapurna South and Machapuchare or Fishtail. The sunrises and sunsets here are truly breathtaking.
Cultural Immersion: With Ghandruk being the typical Gurung village, explorers can learn about the Gurung culture and lifestyle from its typical friendly people while learning about their events and traditions. Their hospitality will give a flavor of a real Gurung experience to interact with and visit the Gurung Museum to gather a little about Gurung's history and lifestyle.
More Plants and Animals: The trek to Ghandruk takes one through the lush woods of rhododendron, oak, and bamboo, which displays a rich diversity of plant and animal life. In spring, particularly, the bush is covered with blood-red rhododendrons that add to the trekking beauty of the way.
Moderate Trekking: Due to the moderate pacing of the Ghandruk Trek, it is suitable for trekkers' various levels of experience. With clearly marked trails, there are also several tea houses all along the way, making the trek a realistic adventure even for the least experienced trekker.
Experience the tea house: Travelers through this trek will find many of these tea houses comfortable beds and good traditional meals. Fortunately, local people who have been experiencing those warm and friendly tea houses could enjoy local food and hospitality.
Near to Pokhara: The travel from Pokhara toward Ghandruk, by far, the favorite travel destination in Nepal, is very easy for tourists because it takes minimal travel time to the trailhead. The trek is very appropriate for those short on time.
Less Crowded Place: However, when referring to the Annapurna region, it does not mean that it cannot be a less crowded trek.
