Nagarkot Hiking is one of the best destinations for those who are in search of quiet and scenic views of Nature. This tour will provide you a lot of options and variety during your hiking tour. You can choose the length of your hiking tour starting from a short two days hike to five days hiking on your compatibility.
Describing Nagarkot; it is a small hill station lying 32 kilometers east of Kathmandu comprising of different scenic spots and considered best for the view of sunrise from Kathmandu valley. Nagarkot is one of the best places for your refreshment and also the ending point of many hiking tours including Chisapani and Sundarijal hiking.
This is a lovely holiday for those limited to time. It also allows you to stretch your legs in some lovely scenery with an easy walk through some fascinating villages to interact with the local people, there are a number of superb short trekking routes in The Kathmandu Valley, this one stands out as one of the best. You also have the opportunity to discover some of the rich cultural heritage within the valley.
Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu
On arrival at Tribhuwan International Airport in Kathmandu, a member of Approved Holidays will be there to warmly welcome you for your transfer to a selected hotel in Kathmandu. Depending on your arrival and time permitting there is a short guided tour of the local markets for those interested. In the evening a meal at a traditional local restaurant is provided where we have a chance to go through your tour in more detail and answer any questions you may have. Overnight Kathmandu.
Day 2: Kathmandu Valley Sightseeing
Today we spend the whole day Sightseeing within The Kathmandu Valley; Kathmandu with its rich cultural heritage provides numerous places of extreme interest; we visit Kathmandu Durbar Square (King's palace square) a complex of beautiful temples and shrines, Swayambhunath, one of the oldest temples in Kathmandu for Buddhists, Pashupatinath Temple one of the most revered holy cremation places for Hindus around the world and famous also for its pagoda style architecture. We also visit Boudhanath one of the largest of stupas in the world and the center of Buddhist faith in the valley. Overnight hotel.
Day 3: Drive to Nagarkot via Bhaktapur and Overnight stay
We drive out of Kathmandu and into the hills that surround the valley to Nagarkot today. On the way we stop at Bhaktapur, set almost in a medieval setting, Bhaktapur with its narrow brick paved streets is locked in centuries-old beliefs and traditions still very much in evidence, we lunch here. After lunch, we travel up through the forested hills too. Nagarkot, a popular hill station that commands some wonderful views especially at sunrise/sunset of a large part of the Himalayan chain, stretching from Dhaulagiri in the west all the way to Everest and on to Kanchenjunga in the east. Day 4: Hike to Changunarayan and Back to Kathmandu
Soon after breakfast and weather permitting, a spectacular sunrise, we begin our hike to one of the valleys most revered temples, Changu Narayan. Changu Narayan is said to be the oldest temple of Kathmandu Valley, it is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Said to have been built by King Hari Dutta in 323 AD it is recognized as being the oldest temple in the valley. The hike is mainly downhill and takes around 4 hours. We trek through small villages and there are some lovely views of the valley on the way. After lunch at Changu Narayan, we drive back to our hotel in Kathmandu. In the evening there is a farewell meal at a local restaurant. Overnight Kathmandu.
Day 5: Mountain flight and departure
Today is our last day but a very special one: Early morning we take one of the most dramatic flights in the world. Before breakfast, we transfer to the domestic airport for the one hour flight to the base of Mount Everest. A flight that defies adequate description, perhaps only to say, it is one of the most memorable flights you will have ever taken. You have plenty of time to witness these dramatic peaks in all their glory, take photos and sit in awe of the highest mountain range in the world. On returning to the hotel and flight departure time permitting, there is time to relax. Our representative will be there to wish a fond farewell and safe journey with a wish to see you back again with us in the future before your transfer to Tribhuwan International Airport for departure to your onward destination.
