The tour starts with an exploration of sacred sites in Kathmandu valley. Visiting Boudhanath, Swayambhunath, and other sacred spiritual sites in and around the valley is an awesome start of the tour. After exploring Kathmandu, Namo Buddha, and Pharping, you will travel to Lumbini – the birthplace of Buddha. You will explore the birthplace of Buddha and pay homage to the sacred place where Buddha landed the first on earth. Day 01: Kathmandu Arrival Day
Upon arrival at Kathmandu airport (TIA), you will be greeted by our representative and transferred to your Hotel. After you have checked in and relaxed we will go through the tour itinerary with you and answer any questions you may have. The rest of the day is free however in the evening there will be a complimentary evening meal at a traditional Nepalese restaurant.
Day 02: Full Day S/S of Swayambhunath, Bouddhanath, and Namobuddha - B
We start a guided tour of two UNESCO World Heritage Buddhist sites in Kathmandu. We begin with Swayambhunath and then proceed to Boudhanath. The Buddhists shrine of Boudhanath is one of the largest stupas in the world, and one of the holiest Buddhist pilgrimage and tourist destinations in Kathmandu. Swayambhu meaning the “the self-existent” is popularly known among foreigners as the Monkey Temple owing to the large monkey population residing in the area. In the afternoon you’ll be escorted to Namobuddha another famous Buddhist site situated some 30 km from Kathmandu set in beautiful mountain countryside.
Day 03: Transfer to Lumbini/ Evening free - B.D
We drive to Lumbini today (six hours from Kathmandu) and transfer to our hotel that is situated a few km from Lumbini. Lumbini is the most important Buddhist pilgrimage site in the world – the place where Lord Buddha was born.
Day 04: Full day S/S of The Lumbini Complex - B.L.D
Lumbini, where the Buddha lived until the age of 29, has a number of temples, including the Mayadevi temple Also located here is the Puskarini or Holy Pond where the Buddha’s mother took the ritual dip prior to his birth and where he, too, had his first bath, as well as the remains of Kapilavastu palace. We devote today visiting the more important places and sites in Lumbini. The site spreads over a wide area with many monuments, temples, and ancients places of significance. We begin with a visit to the Mayadevi temple and its beautiful gardens which are built on the exact place where Buddha was born. We also visit the museum and peace pagoda. Some of the important landmarks and monuments in Lumbini include Ashoka’s Pillar erected by Emperor Ashoka (249 BC) on the spot of Buddha’s birth. There are many Buddhist Temples founded by the devotees from different countries: among them, the Tibetan, German and Japanese stand out.
Day 05: Transfer to Chitwan - B.L.D
Today we drive to Chitwan (four hours). After checking in to the jungle lodge and after refreshments you will be briefed about the full nature program by our nature guide. There will be an elephant safari followed by a walk on the banks of the Rapti River for some wonderful sunset views in the sub-tropical jungle. In the evening, enjoy dinner and cultural program by ethnic tribal people performing dance and tribal drums routines. Overnight at Chitwan.
Day 06: Full Day at Chitwan National Park including Jungle activities - B.L.D
At around 5:30 AM there’ll be a wake-up call followed by tea or coffee before proceeding for bird watching. More than 519 species of the birds are found in Chitwan and it is considered as a real paradise for bird watchers. The guide will help you to identify the species. After breakfast, learn more about elephants and their routine with a visit to the elephant breeding center, you will also have the opportunity to bathe with them. After lunch, you’ll be escorted for a canoeing program along the Rapti River the trip takes you to the inner part of the Jungle. There will be a jungle walk programme in the afternoon followed by a Jeep Safari. Some of the major wildlife found in the park includes rhinoceros, tigers, leopards, sloth bears, wild bison as well as the near extinct Gharial crocodiles.
Day 07: Village walk/ Transfer to Kathmandu - B
At around 5:30 AM, there’ll be a wake-up call followed by tea or coffee before a walk to visit a typical jungle village, the guide will brief you about the social and cultural aspect of the villagers and will show you their lifestyle. On return to the lodge, breakfast is taken before a transfer to the local airport for your flight back to Kathmandu and your hotel. The rest of the day at leisure for some last minute shopping or sightseeing
Day 08: Transfer to Airport - B
Good things never last forever. Similarly, your tour ends today. You’ll be transferred to the airport at your scheduled flight time for your flight back to home.
